A Navy Novelty
St. Paul | Minnesota
For this retired couple, the kitchen is where family naturally gathers. Grandchildren pop in after school to bake cookies, help make dinner, or simply pull up a chair and wait for something delicious. Without adding a single square foot, the layout is completely reimagined to improve circulation, expand prep space, and transform a cramped, 20-year-old space. Navy cabinetry, warm natural oak, patterned floor tile (that happily hides spills), and playful orange accents reflect the homeowner's vibrant personality. With four doorways competing for valuable wall space, increasing storage seemed nearly impossible. Instead, the redesign wraps the room in cabinetry, adds a built-in serving hutch, and proves that the smartest solutions often come from working within the tightest constraints.
