Updated Arts & Crafts Home
kitchen, office, laundry, entry remodel / Falcon Heights, MN
Challenge
This quaint Arts and Crafts home had the traditional separation of the kitchen from the balance of the main floor living spaces. The family wanted to recreate this home’s “hub of activity” to accommodate today’s busy lifestyle while.
- Create a new kitchen, eat-in nook, office, mudroom, and laundry space using existing space
- Maintain the character of the home, but make it work for the modern family
Solution
The quarter-sawn oak cabinetry, soapstone countertops, wood floors, windows, doors, and built-in breakfast nook blend perfectly with the home’s original finishes. A main floor bedroom was divided into a functional mud room/laundry and dual workstations. All achieved without adding a single square foot!
