The Challenge:
While new owners of this 1940s-era home requested major changes, we could not alter exterior walls because the home is on the St. Croix River
bluffs and subject to building restrictions.

The Solution
Retaining the shell of the home, we remodeled the interiors to create a refined environment with elegant materials and finishes. The kitchen hood is a custom stainless steel and copper design that becomes the centerpiece of the room, over a commercial-style range, fitted into a strikingly curved wall. Marble countertops define a baking area. Granite countertops are used throughout the rest of the kitchen, with maple cabinets. Floors are Brazilian cherry. A large walk-in pantry is accessed through one of two butler doors; the other leads to the mud/laundry room.
