Kitchen Remodel
Burnsville, Minnesota

The Challenge:Improve the function and appearance of an inefficient kitchen.

Our Solution:Redesigning the layout of this kitchen improved its workability and fabulous new cabinetry makes it a showstopper. The combination of cherry pieces combined with black stained, hand-rubbed maple pieces is very striking. An appliance armoire and a wine bar with wine cooler add even more to the room’s functionality.

Two-story Addition/Kitchen Remodel
St. Louis Park, Minnesota

The Challenge:Re-do kitchen, create main-floor family room, enlarge cramped master bedroom and bath, refresh home inside and out while maintaining its 1940s character.

Our Solution: Removed an old screened porch to make way for addition, and an interior wall to open up kitchen and dining area. New addition includes a sunny family room on the main floor, with a spacious master suite upstairs. In the kitchen, new Shaker-style cherry cabinetry, crown molding, honed granite counters and a marble-topped center island exude comfortable, efficient elegance. From light fixtures to floor tiles, interior details were chosen to honor the home’s heritage.

Log Home Kitchen Remodel
Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota

The Challenge: Update a kitchen in a log home, which presented unique design constrictions – no walls could be moved, and there were no ceiling “hiding places” for electrical wiring.

The Solution: After gutting the kitchen, new knotty cherry cabinets were distressed for rustic character, then hand scribed for a custom fit against the log walls. Perimeter soapstone countertops have a honed finish, while the two-level semi-circular island is topped with a complementary green marble.

To meet the wiring challenge, we designed a 14-foot metal tree-branch sculpture – hollow inside, it allowed us to fish wire through it from the ceiling. It was custom fabricated by a local artisan, is detailed with metal pinecones and twigs, and seamlessly supports frosted glass pendant lighting.

1970s-era Kitchen Remodel
Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota

The Challenge: Bring contemporary appeal and improved efficiency to a kitchen for serious cooks.

The Solution: The old kitchen, with its confining peninsula, was gutted and enlarged, and a large cherry island with Cambria top is the center of attention for cooking, informal dining and socializing. Multiple work stations, customized built-ins, much-needed storage and professional-grade appliances create high functionality. Sleek, contemporary details include a glass tile backsplash and deep, square stainless steel sinks in two locations. A customized message center, plus a window bench with additional storage are also tied into the new design.

Cherry Kitchen Renovation
Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota

The Challenge: Make an outdated, 1970s-era kitchen
more inviting and family friendly, as part of a
complete-home remodeling project.

The Solution: The wall on the right was pushed back to
enlarge the room and build in a deep refrigerator. The
original peninsula and cabinets suspended over it were
removed to further open up the room. Taller, roomier
cabinets replaced soffits. A center work island was
created. All cabinetry features intricate, custom-designed
door overlays, and the island has carved corbel detailing.
Brazilian cherry floors and granite countertops complete
the sophisticated result.

Kitchen Remodel in Complete-Home Renovation
Scandia, Minnesota

The Challenge: While new owners of this 1940s-era
home requested major changes, we could not alter
exterior walls because the home is on the St. Croix River
bluffs and subject to building restrictions.

The Solution: Retaining the shell of the home, we
remodeled the interiors to create a refined environment
with elegant materials and finishes. The kitchen hood is
a custom stainless steel and copper design that becomes
the centerpiece of the room, over a commercial-style
range, fitted into a strikingly curved wall. Marble
countertops define a baking area. Granite countertops
are used throughout the rest of the kitchen, with maple
cabinets. Floors are Brazilian cherry. A large walk-in
pantry is accessed through one of two butler doors; the
other leads to the mud/laundry room.

Gourmet Kitchen & Butler's Pantry
Edina, Minnesota

The Challenge: Combine classic elegance with the latest features gourmet cooks crave.

The Solution: Custom designed and aged cherry cabinetry and yards of granite countertops form the framework of this magnificent open kitchen. Appliances were chosen not only for their standout design, but for high-end functionality. That means Wolf range and double ovens, Sub-Zero refrigeration with refrigerator, under-counter drawers and wine cooler, and ultra-quiet Asko dishwasher. Ample storage is provided by a stunning in-kitchen cherry buffet, as well as two walls of customized cabinetry in the adjacent butler's pantry that leads into the dining room.

Elegant, Classic Kitchen Remodel
Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota

The Challenge: Bring a warm, more distinctive character and lighter feeling to a 20-year-old traditional oak and dark ceramic tile kitchen.

The Solution: After gutting the old kitchen, a new kitchen was designed using exquisitely detailed and handcrafted Wm Ohs furniture-style cabinetry - featuring a blue center island and off-white perimeter cabinets, all topped with granite. Cream colored travertine stone brightens the custom-designed backsplash, with its 3-inch display ledge, and the floor, which has a finish that's halfway between polished and honed for a look that's sophisticated without being overly formal. Finally, integrated appliances include a commercial range and oven for avid cooks.
